Merry Christmas from Peak: Ending the Year with a Stunning 5kW In-Roof Solar Installation in Dorset
As the year draws to a close and the festive season arrives, the Peak team has wrapped up one final project before taking a well-earned breather. And what better way to finish the year than with a beautifully executed 5kW GSE in-roof solar PV installation in the picturesque village of Worth Matravers, Dorset?
This project brings together modern renewable technology, sleek architectural integration, and high-performance energy storage—creating a complete, future-proofed renewable solution for the homeowner. It also marks the end of our busiest and most successful year to date, thanks to the continued support of our fantastic customers.
Below, we take you through the final installation of our 2024 pipeline, the technology we used, and why in-roof systems continue to grow in popularity.
A Seamless Finish with GSE In-Roof Solar Panels
For this property, the customer wanted a solar installation that delivered strong energy generation without compromising the home’s aesthetic. That made the GSE in-roof mounting system the perfect choice.
Unlike traditional on-roof panels, in-roof systems sit flush with the roof surface, effectively replacing a section of tiles. This offers:
- A sleek, integrated appearance
- Improved weatherproofing
- Reduced wind uplift
- A more architectural finish
- Great suitability for new builds, re-roofs, and premium installations
Our team installed a 5kW array, perfectly positioned to capture the best of the Dorset sunshine. The result is a system that blends beautifully into the property while providing clean, free renewable energy all year round.

Harnessing Power Smarter: Sigenergy Hybrid Inverter
To support the PV array, we installed a Sigenergy hybrid inverter—a smart, flexible solution designed to tie together solar generation, battery storage, and EV charging.
Hybrid inverters are fast becoming the backbone of modern renewable systems because they allow the customer to:
- Send solar energy directly into the home
- Store excess energy for later use
- Seamlessly draw from the grid when needed
- Prioritise cost savings or backup power
- Integrate EV charging and smart loads
The Sigenergy range is one of the most advanced on the market, giving the homeowner a robust, future-ready control system at the heart of their setup.
20kWh of Stackable Battery Storage
To further maximise energy independence, we paired the system with 20kWh of Sigenergy stackable battery storage. This significantly increases the homeowner’s ability to make use of their solar energy around the clock—or even during a power cut.
The benefits of this kind of storage include:
- Reduced reliance on the grid
- Greater protection from rising energy prices
- Backup power during outages
- Higher self-consumption of generated solar energy
- Flexible expansion if energy usage grows
For properties with EVs, heat pumps, or high evening consumption, 20kWh of storage is a powerful and forward-thinking choice.
Charging Ahead: 7kW Sigenergy EV Charger Installed
To complete the installation, we fitted a 7kW Sigenergy EV charger, fully integrated with the hybrid inverter and battery system.
This means the customer can:
- Charge their electric vehicle using solar energy
- Use stored battery power for off-peak charging
- Optimise energy flows automatically
- Reduce overall running costs
- Rely less on grid electricity
With EV ownership rising rapidly across Dorset and the wider UK, solar-powered EV charging is becoming one of the most impactful upgrades homeowners can invest in.
